hello from accra

hi, I’m Folade

I’m an AI cloud and data engineer in Ghana. I like making data move, automating repetitive work, and building useful tools. I also spend time contributing to open-source projects that interest me.

before

I earned a BSc in Information Technology in Ghana, graduating at the top of my class. Afterward, I became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AI Practitioner, and Cloud Practitioner.

now

I’m learning and building with AWS, Python, Terraform, data pipelines, and agent workflows.

things i’ve built

Most of the things I build begin with a small, recurring annoyance. Article App came from wanting to read more without having to choose what to read, so I built a scheduled AWS Lambda that picks one short read from 33 RSS feeds and sends it to my phone each day. Serverless ETL to Athena explores the same instinct at a larger scale: it is an event-driven Python pipeline that turns incoming CSVs in S3 into tidy, partitioned Parquet ready to query in Athena.

I also enjoy building tools for everyday use. Clipd is a private, local-only clipboard history manager for macOS, written in Swift without third-party dependencies. Shipit brings that same focus to Git by scanning, grouping, and committing changes through a deterministic workflow that always stops before pushing. And when I wanted a simpler way to read Markdown, I made mdpeek , a lightweight, read-only macOS viewer built with Tauri and the WebKit already on the machine.

away from the keyboard

I read mostly fiction, watch basketball and football, and enjoy working out; pull-ups and dips are my favourite. I follow Formula One too, although this season has been rough as a Max fan, and I can happily lose time scrolling Pinterest for pictures I like. Also, plantain. Always plantain.
